Wendy Jo Peterson, RD

Wendy’s passion and expertise begins with her client’s palate, their taste for nutrition & wellness. Wendy Jo has over 6 years of experience working with clients, including athletes, teenagers, mental health patients, firefighters, and members of the armed forces on the best ways to begin modifying their eating habits to achieve optimal health. As a former culinary arts teacher and swim coach she has a unique approach to enhancing her client’s health and tapping into their edible nutrition!

Wendy graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Food Science and Nutrition and later went onto complete her accredited internship through Utah State University. Wendy then moved to Virginia Beach where she divided her work efforts teaching culinary arts for Virginia Beach City Public High Schools, collaborating with Platinum Pilates using an integrative approach to fitness and wellness, and for the City of Virginia Beach’s Mental Health Programs. Wherever Wendy moved she was still drawn back into the classroom whether to further her education in teaching, public health, or nutrition. In January 2007, following her husband’s military career, she made the move back to California where she attended and graduated from the prestigious Defense Language Institute in Monterey as a Spanish Linguist. Her formal culinary training includes courses through Florida Culinary Institute, Scottsdale Culinary Institute, and Johnson & Wales University. Basically, there doesn’t seem to be any aspect of nutrition dietetics Wendy doesn’t love!

Personally, Wendy has been a supportive military wife to her husband, Brandon of 12+ years. Together they are proud parents of their rescued Black Labs, Jake and Hilly! Her favorite pass-times include rock climbing in the Sierras, skiing, hiking, surfing, sewing, photography and making gourmet food for her biggest fans—The Peterson Clan!
